DONALD RANDAL GRAHAM SR.
Nov. 26, 1936- April 11, 2014
Donald Randal Graham Sr., 77, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at Vidant Medical Center.
Donald was born in Wayne County on Nov. 26, 1936, to the late Junious Hansel and Pennie Thornton Graham. He worked in Goldsboro as a salesman for his entire life, retiring from Frito-Lay in 1992. After retiring, Donald raised beef cattle until his health no longer allowed him to do so. In recent years, his daily visit to Danny's store was a highlight of his day. Donald became a Christian in the late 1980s and was a member of Eureka Christian Church. He never went out without running into someone he knew. Donald valued people and he had a gift for making each person feel loved and special. He was a kind and gentle man who made life better for those who knew him.
A service celebrating and remembering Donald's life will be held Monday, April 14, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Eureka Christian Church, with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie Minton Graham; daughter, Yvette Truman of Clayton; son, Randy Graham and wife, Barbara, of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Steven Truman and wife, Jennifer, Mandy Fahrni and husband, Jeremy, and Don Graham III and wife, Alyson; two honorary grandchildren, Rebekah and Patricia Purvis; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Kyle Fahrni and William and Evan Graham. He also has many nephews, nieces and extended family members. Donald is dearly loved and missed by those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
We would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. McCaskill and the Rev. Frank Purvis for the love and care they provided for Donald through the years. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Eureka Christian Church, 2036 Dobbersville Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
