JEAN HART HARPER
June 18, 1950-March 21, 2014
Jean Hart Harper, 63, passed away peacefully Friday, March 21, 2014, with her family by her side.
She was a member of the gospel group Renewed Harts, and enjoyed ministering God's word in song.
She asked to be remembered as someone who loved her family more than words could ever express, and as someone whose heart was in singing.
She is survived by her husband, John Harold Harper; her son, Brandon Harper and wife, Jessica; grandson, Kevin Harper; her daughter, Candace Harper, and grandson, Gavin Smith; her mother, Bettie Arthur Mooring Hart; brothers, Ricky Hart (Randy), Steve Hart and Michael Hart (Chrystal); her sisters, Kay Quinn (Doug), Peggy Chase (Dennis), Sherry Arnette, Terry Wilson (John) and Christy Hollingsworth (Carl); and sister-in-law, Sharon Hart.
She was preceded in death by her father, J. B. Hart Jr., and her brother, Kenneth Hart.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday evening, March 26, at 7 p.m. at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church located at 145 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill, in the Shine community, with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service, and at other times, at 2310 Gurganus Road, Snow Hill.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
