JORDAN CECIL WILLIAMS

MOUNT OLIVE -- Jordan Cecil "J.C." Williams, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Elm City, he was the son of the late William Jordan and Lina Leona Phillips Williams.
J.C. was a retired truck driver, having driven for Mt. Olive Pickle Co. and Pepsi Bottling Co. of Goldsboro.
He was also a member of Northeast Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard E. Cuddington Jr. and the Rev. Sherman Dilley officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
J.C. is survived by his wife of 63 years, Panis Moye Williams; a son, Michael J. Williams and wife, Lynn, of Mount Olive; a daughter, Catherine W. Galyon and husband, Charlie, of Mount Olive and Louisiana; six grandchildren, David Arnett and wife, Kay, Katy Pearce and husband, Joseph, Miranda Connor, Jordan Williams and Katelyn Williams all of Mount Olive and Lynwood Yelverton and wife, Ashley, of Goldsboro; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Yelverton Connor, and his sister, Mary Etta Vann.
