Linda Millard Overbee, 66, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Linda was born in Wayne County, N.C., Aug. 12, 1947, to the late Rufus Millard and Lou Esther Wood Millard. She was married to the late Jesse Worth Overbee.
Linda had worked as a bookkeeper with McArthur Rentals, and for many years, she and her husband owned and operated Overbee's Grocery and Grill.
She enjoyed working in her yard, and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Linda will always be loved by her family, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chuck Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Cindy Overbee Aehlich and husband, Bill, of Tinton Falls, N.J.; her son, Scott Overbee and wife, Kelly, of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, Lindsay Aehlich, Jesse Overbee and Jason Overbee.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 514 Daniels St., Suite 109, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times, at 305 Carla Ann Drive, Pikeville, N.C.
