Lillian Joyce Joyner Raynor, 89, passed away Thursday at her home.
Lillian was born in Richmond, Va., Jan. 9, 1924, to the late Charlie Randolph Joyner and Myrtie A. Daniel Joyner. She was married to the late Allman Benjamin Raynor.
Along with her husband, Lillian owned and operated Raynor's Fruit Grocery for 25 years. She also worked for 22 years with Parrott Shoes.
Lillian was a member of Jordan's Chapel Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with Benjamin Raynor officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Lillian is survived by her son, Dewey Lee Raynor Sr. and wife, Janice, of Wilson; daughter-in-law, Carol Raynor of Grantham; sisters, Danselene Uzzell of Goldsboro and Mary Hill of Grantham; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Raynor; sisters, Carlotta Jones and Louise Brown; and brothers, C.R. Joyner and Willie Mintz Joyner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Grantham Rescue Squad.
