MOUNT OLIVE -- Ada Louise Gurley Batten, 83, Emmaus Church Road, passed away Monday morning at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
Mrs. Batten was born April 25, 1930, to the late Dan and Bessie Capps Gurley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Anderson Batten Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jones and husband, James, of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Wendy Jones and Jamie Avery and husband, William; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Howell, Corey Howell, Justin Cotton and Noah Jones; and a great-great-grandson, Aiden Howell.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
