LINWOOD EARL MCCULLEN SR.
Linwood Earl McCullen, Sr., 64, passed away on Monday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville surrounded by his family.
Linwood was born in Wayne County on May 30, 1949 to Helen Blackman McCullen and the late Charlie McCullen. He was a former employee of A.P. Parts and most recently was employed as a plumber. Linwood was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water fishing or in the woods. He always enjoyed the opportunity of finding the best deal and was always willing to take the challenge of restoring a boat to trade or sell.
A service celebrating the life of Linwood will be Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony McLamb and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Wayne Memorial Park.
Linwood is survived by his wife of 44 years, Penny McCullen; daughters, Chris Martin and friend, Glenn Lane of Goldsboro and Peggy Raynor and husband, Eugene of Goldsboro; son, Earl McCullen and wife, Melissa of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Denise Moody and husband Justin, Carrie Martin, Taylor Raynor, Josh Raynor and Brandon McCullen; and a special niece, Jean M. Corbett and husband, Randy of Goldsboro. He is also survived by his brother, Carson McCullen of Goldsboro; and sisters, Annie Ruth Pearce and husband, Leamon of Goldsboro and Dorothy Lawhon of Goldsboro.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph McCullen, Bobby McCullen and Billy McCullen.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
