Hazel Louise Gooding Blackwell, 72, died Wednesday evening.
She was the daughter of the late George F. and Ellen Swain Gooding, and wife of the late James K. Blackwell Sr.
A service to celebrate the life of Hazel will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Toler and Mr. Bobby Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Family members will greet friends Saturday an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Hazel is survived by her children, Lucille B. Glover and husband, J.D., of Wilson, Sylvia B. Rouse and husband, Bryant, of Greenville, N.C., James K. Blackwell Jr. of Goldsboro and Barbara Blackwell of Goldsboro; two brothers; five sisters; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
