BENJAMIN ADAMS

Benjamin Franklin "Bill" Adams, 79, passed away Thursday at his home.
Bill was born Aug. 21, 1934, to the late James William Adams and Minerva Turner Adams, and was raised in the Adamsville community of Wayne County.
He graduated from New Hope High School, and served his country in the United States Navy.
Bill was retired from S&D Coffee Co.
He was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church in LaGrange. Bill was devoted to his church, and was involved in many activities, where he utilized his gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
Most of all, Bill was devoted to his family, and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Smith Family Cemetery on Hood Swamp Road, with the Rev. Dr. Mallie Hinnant officiating.
Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Sue Smith Adams; his daughters, Tammy Munoz and husband, David, of Goldsboro, Tracy Little and husband, Ed, of Raleigh and Tonya Adams and friend, Jeff Mahorney, of Durham; and his grandchildren, Ryne Herring and Ben Munoz.
He is also survived by his sister, Annie Herring and husband, A.J., of Goldsboro; his special in-laws, Leatrice Creech, Faye Best and husband, J.D., and Sandra Shirley and husband, Ray; and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church in care of Jackie Overbee, 402 Birch Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service and at other times at his home.
