Lynn Oreas Pearce, 83, Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro, died at Kitty Askins Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.
He was born Aug. 1, 1930, to the late Jesse Broadus and Lettie Capps Pearce.
Mr. Pearce served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
After retiring from his lifelong career as a logger with RWR Logging Co., he enjoyed his hobby of beaver trapping for the local hunting clubs and farmers.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Kelley Buffaloe and pastor Billy Toler officiating. The burial will follow in Snipes/Pearce Cemetery.
Mr. Pearce is survived by his wife, Joyce Davis Pearce; sons, Anthony Lynn Oreas Pearce of Grantham and Trampus Glenn Pearce of Rosewood; daughters, Melody Doyle and husband, Stephen, of Sumter, S.C., Tammy Merritt of Merritt Island Fla., and Kim Langley and husband, Bryan, of Princeton; a brother, Jesse Lee Pearce of Princeton; a sister, Kaye Wilson of Clayton; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Casey Funeral chapel Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m.
