RAYMOND GRANT CARMACK

Raymond Grant Carmack, 88, died Friday evening at Harmony Hall Nursing Home in Kinston, N.C.
Born in Richlands, N.C., he was the son of the late Raymond Pollock and Rochie K. Carmack, and the husband of the late Lillie Mae Carmack.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Cobb Family Cemetery in Greene County near the Jason community.
The family will receive friends at 110 Jones Joyner Lane, Dudley, N.C.
In addition to his wife and parents; a son, Johnny Carmack; a daughter, Linda Medford; and three sisters, Ester Hunter, Martha Prince and Edna Huffman, preceded him in death
Raymond is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Kathy Carmack of Dudley, N.C., Edward and Gaynell Carmack of Leland, N.C., Ronald Carmack of Arden, N.C., and Morris Carmack of Seven Springs, N.C.; two daughters, Becky Aycock of Fremont, N.C., and Judy Howard of Wilson, N.C.; 17 grandchildren, including a special grandchild, Brittany Carmack of the home; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Raymond joined the Navy in 1942, and served two terms during World War II.
After the war, Raymond settled into two careers, farming and carpentry, and was very dedicated to both.
