MOUNT OLIVE -- David Jeffery Herring, 50, 109 S. Southerland St., died Tuesday at Duke Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of James Lamont Herring and the late Carol Kay Thornton, and the husband of Barbara Maitland Herring.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at Great Commission Outreach, 4396 Hwy. 117 Alternate, Dudley. Pastor Derrick Bass will officiate.
Three children survive.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.
