BETTY GRAVES HOPPER

Betty Graves Hopper, 76, passed away on Friday evening at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Betty was born in McCrory, Ark., on Feb. 6, 1937, to the late Myrtle Gilbert Graves and Minnie Linhart Graves. She was married to the late Leonard Douglas Hopper.
Being married to a member of the United States Air Force, she frequently moved around the country for over 20 years with Seymour Johnson Air Force Base being their final duty station before retirement, and finally settling in Goldsboro on Salem Church Road. She was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church since 1970, a member of the Belfast Extension Homemakers Club and active with the Salvation Army's Women's Auxiliary. She also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels Program.
She was the kindest, most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 27, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Sandy Schaller officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Ann H. Coor and husband, Tony, of Fuquay-Varina; son, Michael D. Hopper and wife, Connie, of Goldsboro; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Hopper of Goldsboro; sisters, Eunice Mauldin of Arlington, Texas, Pat Swygert of Columbia, S.C., and Helen Wilson of McCrory, Ark.; brother, Donald Graves of Montgomery, Ala.; five grandchildren, Christopher D. Hopper, Daniel Coor, Ameron Coor, Mary Ann Leon and Jeff Hopper; and great-grandchildren, Jay Leon, Alex Johnson, Carlie Hopper, Mason Betts, Lexi Clucas, Caroline Clucas and Anderson Clucas.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy K. Hopper.
