Marilyn Faye Lane Brown, 57, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate the life of Marilyn will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Roney and Lillie Mae Lane and mother of the late Teresa Leggion.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Danny" Brown; two children, Delora Brown and Christopher Ward; three brothers, Harold Lane, Bryan Lane and Larry Lane; three sisters, Betsy Bartlett, Chris Lozier and Debra Wiggins; and nine grandchildren.
Family members will greet friends this evening at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m., and at other times at the home.
