KENANSVILLE -- Hortense Tyndall Hasty, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 7.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at Golden Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held today, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. at the Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
She was born in Beulaville on Aug. 8, 1928, to Sallie and Eugene Tyndall. She was a lifelong resident of Kenansville, active in the community and served on the town board. She is predeceased by her son, Bobby, and her parents. She attended East Carolina University and met her husband, Rudolph Fulton Hasty, there. She was a member of the Kenansville Baptist Church. She is survived by her sister, Jean Tyndall Thompson and husband, Crenshaw, of Southern Pines; her sons, Rudolph Fulton Hasty, and Michael Eugene Tyndall Hasty and wife, Julie Gooding Hasty; granddaughters, Brittney Skiff and husband, Mark, Corrie Davenport and husband, David, Sarah Jayne Edwards and husband, Jack; and grandson, Carson Tyndall Hasty; and four great-grandchildren. Hortense loved gardening, reading, birds, dancing, and the beach. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
