NANCY G. CRUSE

LAGRANGE -- Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2013, Nancy Gray Cruse, 86, LaGrange, moved to her heavenly home.
Nancy was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
Nancy was born in Wayne County May 2, 1926, to the late Claudie and Hannah Walter Gray.
She was a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.
Nancy also supported her husband in his farming business.
She got great pleasure in cooking for her family and the farm hands, and could often be found helping others in her community.
Nancy was a charter member of United In Christ Church. For more than 40 years, she served as secretary for the ladies auxiliary at Clingman Street Church of God, where she had been a member.
A service remembering the life of Nancy will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at United In Christ Church with the Rev. Ira Williford and the Rev. Larry Massey officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Park.
Nancy will be remembered as a devoted wife to her husband of 67 years, William Cruse.
She is also survived by her children, JoAnn C. Summerlin and husband, Aldon, Faye C. Williams and husband, Eddie, William Earl Cruse and wife, Mary, and Glenda Cruse Lockerby and husband, Daniel, all of LaGrange; her grandchildren, Daryl Anderson and wife, Shelly, Leigh Davis and husband, Chad, Christi Stephenson and husband, Jeff, Lisa Carter and husband, Burl, Lynn Watson and husband, Horace, Angie Moore and husband, Eric, Angie Sutton and husband, Mark, April Brown and husband, Eric, Andrew Lockerby and Danielle Lockerby; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Anderson, Jaxon Anderson, Cody Davis, Luke Davis, Jacob Sutton, Abigail Stephenson, Carlie Carter, Joseph Carter, Logan Grant, Ava Watson, Bryce Moore, Courtney Worth, Jenna Sutton, Madison Brown and Garrett Brown.
She was anticipating the birth of her great-grandson, baby boy Watson, son of Lynn and Horace Watson.
Nancy is also survived by her sister, Gertie Duncan of Orangeville, Calif., and several other family members that include brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews, as well as some very dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Smith, and her brothers, Raymond, Roland, Robert, Richard, Roy and Noah Gray.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to United In Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and following the service Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at United In Christ Church.
At other times, the family will be at her home.
