EUREKA -- Doris Scholer Davis, 95, West Main Street, went to be with her Lord and savior Wednesday evening, Dec. 19, 2012, at home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Interment will follow in Eureka Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 2 to 2:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Davis was born in Indiana Oct. 25, 1917, to the late John and Mary Etta Thurman Scholer.
She is survived by her daughter, Marietta Stewart of Asheville; her son, Douglas S. Davis and wife, Rebecca, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Mindy Davis Knox and husband, Roger, of Winterville, Andrew Davis and wife, Dana, of Greensboro, Seth Stewart of Asheville and Justin Stewart of Asheville; and two great-grandchildren, Emaleigh and Benton Davis.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar J. Davis, three sisters and three brothers.
