Vivian Morris Wharton, 92, of 1608 East Walnut St., died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Harry officiating.
Born in Goldsboro and a life long resident, she was the daughter of the late Addie Freeman Morris and Haskill Jones Morris and the widow of James Leslie Wharton Jr. She was educated in the Goldsboro City Schools and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, having served in the past on the Administrative Board, the Finance Committee and the Altar Guild.
She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Wharton of Goldsboro. Also surviving are nieces, Margaret Turner Kenrick of West Orange, N.J.; Carol Turner Smithwick and Mary Balfour Turner of Goldsboro; Lynette Smith Parker and Ann Morris Morgan of Raleigh; Leslie Wharton Marcello of Thibodaux, La.; Priscilla Lee Wharton of Miami, Fla.; and Ann Wharton Schull of Landisburg, Pa. Surviving nephews are Raymond Arthur Bryan Jr. of Goldsboro; John Morris Rogers of Winterville; and John Sherard Wharton Jr. of Charlottesville, Va.
