Sawai Yodpungtiem Phillips, 69, passed away Friday night at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday night at 6 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with monks from Raleigh Buddist Temple officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Ubon, Thailand, she was the daughter of the late Lae and Joon Yodpungtiem and the widow of Arthur Paul Phillips. She was a member of Buddha Raleigh Yannasang Vararam Temple.
She is survived by one son, Ian Michael Phillips and wife, Kristi, of Hampstead; two daughters, Brenda Dawn Cornell and husband, Glenn, of Shreveport, La., and Sunee Catena and husband, Billy, of Kennett Square, Pa.; and eight grandchildren, including Michael Matthew Griffith of the home.
