Antonie Schafer Vernon, 77, of Pikeville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at her residence.
A graveside service will be conducted today, Aug. 5, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Skyline Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Rickey Spencer officiating. The family received friends Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
She was born on July 19, 1935, in Bremerhaven, Germany, to the late Bernhard and Charlotte Schafer. Mrs. Vernon was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Vernon is survived by her loving husband, Mickey Dean Vernon of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Micheal and Stephanie Vernon of Selma; one granddaughter, Mikayla Vernon; two brothers, Bernhardt Schafer and Ewald Schafer.
Mrs. Vernon was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Uwe Schafer; and one sister, Charlotte Strempel.
