Evelyn Cooke Ingram, 79, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Evelyn was born in Wayne County to the late Talmadge and Minnie Best Cooke.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Norman "Tom" Ingram.
Mrs. Ingram was retired from Sears with 32 years of service.
She was a member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, a former choir member, a member of the ladies auxiliary and a Sunday school teacher for numerous years, and was also the secretary for the Sunday school.
She was a member of Stoney Creek Home Extension Club, and a volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital for many years.
She loved to cook, sew and quilt. She was involved in many projects for the community, which included sewing caps and lap blankets for oncology patients and sewing bibs for Edgewood Developmental School.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Hinnant and husband, Robbie, of Goldsboro, and Terri Gooding of Goldsboro and fiancé, Dan Price of Nashville; sister, Faye Price of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Matt Hinnant and wife, Brandi, Jennifer Hansley and husband, Ken, Brad Gooding and wife, Joanna, Amy Capps and husband, Jason, and Drew Hinnant and wife, Stacey; great-grandchildren Ashlan, Zaida, Maverick and Emmi Lou Hinnant, Caleb Gooding, Emily Capps and Asa Beth Hinnant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Green and husband, Bill, and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Price.

Family will receive friends following the service at the church, and at other times at the home of Robbie and Sandy Hinnant, 204 Plantation Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
