DOROTHY A. SUGGS

LAGRANGE -- Dorothy Anne "Dot" Aldridge Suggs, a sweet and gentle spirit, went to her heavenly reward Sunday, April 22, 2012.
Dot was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Lenoir County to the late Harry and Thelma Sugg Aldridge.
She was a member of LaGrange Christian Church.
Dot graduated from LaGrange High School in 1954 as valedictorian. She then attended the University of North Carolina Dental Hygiene Program. Dot later graduated in 1958 from James Walker Hospital in Wilmington as valedictorian, receiving her registered nurse degree.
Dorothy worked at the Veterans Hospital in Durham, Caswell Center Hospital in Kinston and then worked 20 years with Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Dot loved to work in the yard with flowers and the beauty of nature.
She greatly cherished all of her family, and her family had a great love for her.
A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Stacy and the Rev. Rick Mondell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Leamon; two children, Edd Leamon Suggs III and wife, Julie, of Goldsboro and Lisa Suggs Frost MacQueen and husband, Kevin, of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Robbie Morawski, Brittney Rogers and husband, Steve, James E. Frost and Heather Suggs all of Goldsboro; and sister, Jean Abbott and husband, Henry, of LaGrange.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the home.
