DALE L. HART
SELMA -- Dale L. Hart, 70, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his home.
Born August 19, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Donald and Olga Hough Hart.
Mr. Hart was a loving husband, father, and "Pa." He worked in construction and was employed by Edwards Contracting Group.
He loved country and bluegrass music, fishing and NASCAR. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served aboard the USS Enterprise.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy Hines Hart; two daughters, Mary King Cuddington of Clayton, N.C., and Sandy Burdette of Dayton, Ohio; a son, James "Jimmy" King of Selma, N.C.; grandchildren, Danielle Cuddington of Chapel Hill, N.C., Disney Cuddington of Clayton, N.C., Shawn Burdette, of Dayton, Ohio, and Lexi Burdette of Dayton, Ohio; and a great-grandson, Tommy Offenbacker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jake King.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in the Chapel of Minshew-Coley Funeral Home. The Rev. Elbert Braswell will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Johnston Home Health Care and Hospice, Johnston Medical Mall, 514 North Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, N.C. 27577.
