ALMA CHASE KEARNEY
Alma Marie Chase Kearney, 87, passed away Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Dora Melissa Vaughan Chase and the widow of Warren Harding Kearney. Mrs. Kearney was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
A service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rufus Butner officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Surviving is her daughters, Evelyn Carol Parnell and husband, Donald of Lucama and Connie Elaine Duncan and husband, Oran of Goldsboro; sons, John Harding Kearney and wife, Gail of Rosewood, Keith Edward Kearney and wife, Marcia of Cedar Point, and Jerry Glenn Kearney and wife, Kathy of Cape Carteret; sister, Grace Smith of Princeton; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kearney was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the love and care shown to Mrs. Kearney and the family by the staff on the 300 hall at the Brian Center and the seventh floor nursing staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Connie and Oran Duncan, 216 Greg Drive, Goldsboro, and the home of Johnny and Gail Kearney, 909 Community Dr., Goldsboro.
