ALICE ARTIS WORRELLS
EUREKA -- Alice Marie Artis Worrells, 70, of 214 Chase St., Eureka, N.C., passed on to be with her Lord and savior April 13, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A celebration of Mrs. Worrells' life will be held at noon Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at St. James AME Zion Church, 206 S. George S. Goldsboro, N.C., with Dr. Dwight B. Cannon as eulogist. She will be laid to rest in the Eureka Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Pikeville, N.C., to the late Wiley & Rosa Webb Artis.
She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend with a huge heart and gentle spirit.
As she enters life eternal, she will forever be cherished by her husband of 50 years, Richard Lee Worrells Sr., son, Richard Lee Worrells Jr.; daughters, Minister Patricia W. (Johnnie) Clifton, Elizabeth W. (Reverend Roscoe) Linton, Cassandra W. (Everett Long) Ragler, and Teshuna W. (James) DuBose; grandchildren; Couri, Tiffany, Roslyn, Racquel, Malik, Jordin, Layla, Tianna and Jameson; siblings, Jesse Artis, Arthur (Claudine) Artis, Albert Artis, Charles (Deborah) Artis, Katherine Cox, Dollie (Anthony) Simmons, Geraldine Jones, Linda Jordan, Shirley (Earl) Burton and Alberta Barnes.
Mrs. Worrells will lie in state Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
The wake will be held Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the chapel.
