LINDLEY B. ROBERTS
April 16, 1930-April 11, 2012
SNOW HILL -- Lindley Barrow Roberts, 81, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Lindley was born April 16, 1930 in Greene County to the late Daniel W. Barrow and Sallie Sugg Barrow. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Frederick "Fred" Roberts. Lindley taught school for 38 years in the Wayne County Public School System. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and both the North Carolina and National Association of Educators. Lindley was a member of Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Lindley is survived by three sisters, Thelma Speight of Kinston, Agnes Brock and husband, Thurman of New Bern, Carol Trammel and husband, Larry of Chapel Hill; two brothers, David Barrow and wife, Margaret of Greenville, Drew Barrow and wife, Margie of LaGrange; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Barrow of LaGrange and Faye Stewart of Roanoke, Va.; her caregivers, Linda Faye Suggs, Nancy Harris and Debra Yancey; along with a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lindley was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Joe Barrow and Lewis Barrow.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 at Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
