JUNE MERRITT
July 3, 1957-March 30, 2012
Thelma "June" Merritt, 54, went to be with Jesus surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 30, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2012, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service at 3 p.m. at the chapel with the Rev. John Sauls, the Rev. Mark Whitfield and the Rev. Cynthia Worrell officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
June was born in Wayne County on July 3, 1957, to Bernice Harrell Merritt of Goldsboro and the late Dewey James Merritt. She will be remembered as a young lady full of love and life. June will be missed dearly by her many friends and family. June always enjoyed playing basketball with the Special Olympics.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sisters, Mardie Sauls and husband, the Rev. John Sauls, of Sanford, Kate Merritt of Goldsboro, and Robin Merritt Fraim and husband, James, of Goldsboro. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
