TIM E. BALLANCE

PIKEVILLE --The sweet spirit of Timothy Earl Ballance, 51, was carried by the angels to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 16, 2012.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held at Charles B. Aycock High School Gym today, March 18, at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends before the service from 1 until 3:30 p.m. at the gym and at other times at the residence, 113 Britmorlan Drive in Pikeville.
Born May 13, 1960, in Wayne County, Tim was the beloved son of Billy and Edna Ballance of Fremont. Tim was senior vice president and market president of Wachovia/Wells Fargo in Greenville, where he served the community for 28 years.
In addition to his parents, Tim was survived by his loving wife, Kay Sullivan Ballance, of 113 Britmorlan Drive in Pikeville; two sons, Adam Ryan Ballance of Greenville and Brandon Charles Ballance of Chapel Hill.
He is also survived by stepchildren, Lindsey Gilstrap and husband, Jarred, of Pikeville, Dustin Gurley and wife, Regina, of Savannah, Ga. and Drake Gurley of Wilmington. The apples of his eye included grandchildren, Karis and Brannon Gilstrap also of Pikeville.
Siblings include Sylvia Ballance of Fremont, Dr. William "Bill" Ballance and wife, Lisa, of Greenville, Ellen Barnes and husband, Ray, of Clemmons.
Nieces and nephews, whom he also considered his children, are Whitney Ballance of Charleston, S.C., Will Ballance of Greenville, Allison Ballance of Charlotte, Dane Barnes of Raleigh, and Scott Barnes of Chapel Hill.
He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Marguerite Sullivan; sister-in-law, Brenda Pearson and husband, Jerry, all of Goldsboro; and special friends of the family, Traci Crayton and Kathryn Latham.
Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to Cures For The Colors at Southeastern Medical Oncology, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, 27530, where all proceeds assist cancer patients in need throughout eastern N.C.
A special thanks to the fourth floor Nursing Staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital who share our journey's end with love and untiring compassion beyond our expectations.
