MICHAEL J. ELZAS

MOUNT OLIVE -- Michael Joseph Elzas, 62, passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, 2012, while a patient at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, and had worked as a medical technician with the Wayne County Health Department.
He is survived by his mother, Pattie Britt Elzas of Mount Olive; an aunt, Lucy Britt Daughtry of Mount Olive; a nephew, Phillip Elzas of Palm Bay, Fla.; a niece, Robin E. Egan of Palm Bay, Fla.; and two cousins, George Daughtry and Michael Daughtry both of Mount Olive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Elzas, and a brother, John Thomas "Tommy" Elzas.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive, and will be conducted by Dr. H. Dennis Draper Jr.
