Emma Mae Price, 85, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Granny" and "Little Emma," of 108 Valleyview Drive, departed this earthly life, peacefully, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Greater St. John FWB Church, 613 Mitchell Road, Dudley, with Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckhorn Cemetery, 1415 Bryan Blvd.
"Granny" was born in Wayne County on April 23, 1926, to the late Julia Hussey Price and Julius Price.
She was educated in Wayne County public schools.
Ms. Price was preceded in death by one son, Johnnie Ray Price.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., from 2 until 5 p.m.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Mitchell and husband, Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr.; one son, Mr. Ronald L. Price, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Binky"; six grandchildren; two grandsons-in-law; one granddaughter-in-law and eight great-grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. William A. Mitchell Jr., 108 Valleyview Drive, where family and friends will assemble one hour prior to the funeral in preparation for the funeral procession.
