LEA ANGELITA FOSTER THORNTON HUBBARD

Lea Angelita Foster Thornton Hubbard, 52, passed away peacefully Nov. 29, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital from complications of multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 2, 1959, to Kenneth Foster and Vinia Foster, at Torrejon Air Force Base in Madrid, Spain.
She is survived by her husband and constant companion of eight years, James Derek Hubbard; her mother, Vinia (Jimmie) Foster; brother, Michael Foster and wife, Karin; brother, Carl Foster; her sister, Kimberly Foster-Jordan and husband, Sam; her children, Dana Thornton-Whaley and husband, Tommy, and David Thornton; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lea was a 1976 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, and a graduate of Wayne Community College.
She was an active social worker throughout Wayne County until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Dec. 3 at her mother's residence from 2 to 4 p.m.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date on the coast of North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Hubbard family in care of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 167, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
