Norma Jean Porter, 80, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
Jean was born in Mount Vernon, Ill., Oct. 19, 1930, to the late William Hulen and Margie Hargis Hulen. She was raised in Tamms, Ill.
Jean is survived by her son, Lee Alan Porter of Wilmington; her daughter, Lynn McLaughlin and husband, Jeff, of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Aubrey Horne, Daniel Porter, Sarah Porter, Cortney McLaughlin and Melissa McLaughlin; her great-grandchild, Aurora McDonough; her sister, Doris Cutrell of Mount Vernion, Ill.; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Haley of Plainview, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Shirley Powell and Rebecca Willson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Porter.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
