BENJAMIN COOPER CRAWFORD

PIKEVILLE -- Benjamin Cooper Crawford, 83, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro.
Ben was born in Wayne County June 7, 1927, to the late Ivey Jonathan Crawford Sr. and Ann Vail Crawford.
He graduated from King's Business College, where he studied accounting.
Ben resided in the Pikeville area his entire life, and was a member of Pikeville-Pleasant Grove Fire Department.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Samuel and Jacquelyn Boone officiating.
A private burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Ben is survived by his sisters, Dolly Crawford Boone of Pikeville and Kathleen Crawford Edgerton of Micro; his brother, I.J. Crawford Jr. of Pikeville; his seven nieces and nephews, Ivey W. Edgerton and wife, Gerri, of Micro, Jacquelyn Boone James and husband, Samuel, of Boston, Mass., Judine Edgerton Wheeler and husband, Mike, of Raleigh, Ray Boone of Clayton, Griff Howell and wife, Carolyn, of Goldsboro, Olivia Crawford Collini and husband, Charlie, of Wadesboro and Lloyd Crawford of Pikeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Crawford Howell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Boys and Girls Homes, P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, N.C., 28450.
The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
