JOHN A. LASSITER

John A. Lassiter, 67, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
John was born in Johnston County June 11, 1943, to the late James and Bertha Odom Lassiter.
He had worked early in life with Hargis Construction Co., and had retired from Goldsboro Housing Authority.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, followed by John's funeral service at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Rose and the Rev. John Howard officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Linda Lynch Lassiter; his children, Dean Lassiter and wife, Sandii, of Pikeville, Marc Lassiter and wife, Dawn, of Goldsboro and Gena L. O'Neal and husband, Jody, of Wilson; his brother, Bobby G. Lassiter and wife, Essie, of Matthews; and the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Sadie Lassiter, Samuel Lassiter, Haley Lassiter, Frankie Lassiter, McKinley Lassiter, Nathan O'Neal and Drew O'Neal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Lassiter.
The family will also receive friends Tuesday following the service at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and other times at his residence, 201 Woodside Drive, Goldsboro.
