EDWARD EARL 'SKEET' RICHARDSON

Aug. 13, 1955-March 25, 2011

Mr. Edward Earl "Skeet" Richardson was born Aug. 13, 1955, to Mary Lois Richardson and the late Earl O.J. Richardson. Skeet departed this life on earth to be with the Lord March 25, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Skeet graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1973.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army.

He furthered his education at Wayne Community College, majoring in electrical engineering.

Later he found an interest in detailing cars. He was formerly employed with Chem-dry of Wayne County (carpet and upholstery).

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Dorothea Best Richardson of the home; a son, Terrance (Mary) Richardson of Goldsboro; two daughters, Kateshia Richardson of Goldsboro and Erica Anderson of Wilson; mother, Mrs. Mary Lois Richardson of Goldsboro; three brothers, Ronnie (Christine) Richardson of Pikeville, Gary Gardner of Raleigh, and Kelvin Gardner of Goldsboro; a sister, Debbie (Will) Gardner-Hines of Virginia; five grandchildren, Saquoia, Aliah, Ke'lijah, Jahmeze and Damarion; an aunt, Susan (Elgine) Lewis of Goldsboro; eight uncles, Marshall (Brenda) Wellington, Thomas Wellington of Lexington, Ky., and Robert Wellington, George Wellington, Billy Ray Wellington, William Wellington, Elwood and Michael (Betty) Wellington all of Goldsboro; three great-aunts, Maxine Grantham of Illinois and Nina Richardson and Eloise Daniels both of Goldsboro; a special dog, Roscoe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church. After which, the E.M. Matthews classic angelic white fleet will escort Mr. Richardson's corporeal temple, along with his adored family, to Wayne Memorial Park for interment rites.

Mr. Richardson's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where his family is receiving services of compassion and distinguished class.
