Lloyd Ray Howard, 93, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Saturday morning at Liberty Commons Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Goldsboro with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
He was born in Duplin County to the late Enoch and Blanche Kennedy Howard, and was the husband of the late Clell Joyner Howard. Mr. Howard was a member of First Baptist Church, and served as an usher for 50 years. He was retired from Kinney Corp. after 38 years of service, 35 as store manager, and 31 years in the Goldsboro Store. He also raised white fantail pigeons for over 20 years.
Mr. Lloyd is survived by his niece and caregiver, Nancy Wade and husband, Ronnie, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Adelle Kornegay, Doris Futrell, Lucille Wadill, and Gertie Smith; and brothers, Woodley and Andrew Howard.
