LAGRANGE -- Elmer Eugene Taylor, 76, LaGrange, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011.
Eugene was born Sept. 5, 1934, in Wilson County to the late Will Preston Taylor and Annie Ara Jones Taylor.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Taylor.
Eugene was a member of LaGrange United Methodist Church, and had been an important part of Howell's Bear Creek since 1970.
A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
Eugene is survived by a sister, Ruth Taylor Barnes and husband, James, of Wilson; special family friends, Irene and Reece Howell of Goldsboro; along with his Howell's Bear Creek family.
The family will receive friends Thursday beginning one hour before the service.
