SPRING LAKE -- Retired Capt. Billy Ray Cox, 68, died Friday at Wake Medical Center.
The funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Adcock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today at Adcock Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Cox, and daughters Kathy Coffee and Brenda Faye Cox.
Survivors include step-sons Gary T. Smith, Raleigh; Neil Smith, Orlando, Fla.; sisters Joyce Johnson, Mount Olive; Carol Bartee, Centerville, Ga.; Faye Smith, Goldsboro; brothers John Cox, Pikeville; and Gerald Cox, Aumsville, Ore.; and grandchildren Billy Coffee, Nelson Smith and Skylar Smith.
