JOE RENFROE

Joe Renfroe, 75, passed away Sunday at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer and COPD.
"Papa" Joe Renfroe was born in Fort Cobb, Okla., Sept. 3, 1935, to the late Roy Delmer Renfroe and Rebecca Cossey Renfroe.
He honorably served his country and family all of his days.
He retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of service, and also was retired from Wayne Community College.
He will always be loved and remembered as a very true and loving man affectionately named "Papa Joe" to all who knew him.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Full military honors will follow the service on the front lawn.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service.
Mr. Renfroe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy Melton Renfroe; his sons, Tony Renfroe and wife, Cherri, of Hookerton and Mark Renfroe and wife, Terri, of Goldsboro; daughter, Lee Ann Boykin and husband, Tim, of Goldsboro; his sister, Cindy Gilbert and husband, Ralph, of Oklahoma; his brothers, Willie Renfroe and wife, Faye, of Arkansas and Toye Renfroe and wife, Sue, of Kansas; and his grandchildren, Quinn Boykin and Tyler Joe Renfroe. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Edith Bradley and husband, Bennie, of North Carolina, and his brothers-in-law, Lewis Melton and Luther Melton Jr. of Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
