VIRGINIA LOIS "DOUGLAS" JOHNSON

ZEBULON -- Virginia Lois "Douglas" Johnson, 77, of 930 Perry Curtis Road, died Wednesday.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m., Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, with visitation from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service, and will be other times at the home.
She was a native of Johnston County, and daughter to the late Jim and Rena Medlin Douglas. She worked at Devil Dog from which she retired. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Truett Johnson, and sons, Michael Jay Johnson and James "Jimmy" Johnson.
She is survived by sons, Mathew Johnson and wife, Connie, of Manassas, Va., Michael Johnson and wife, Wanda, of Goldsboro, and Johnnie Johnson and wife, Vicky, of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Cheryl Senter of Wendell, Cynthia Johnson of Zebulon, and Dottie Garris and husband, Earl, of Zebulon; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wake County SPCA.
