ELIZABETH THORNTON CAUGHRON

ASHEBORO -- Elizabeth Thornton Caughron, age 83, formerly of 966 Pinkney Road in Kenly, N.C., died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.
Mrs. Caughron was born May 11, 1927, the daughter of Ralph F. and Winifred Briggs Thornton.
She was a native of Guilford County, and a member of Nahunta Friends Meeting.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jack L. Caughron, and brother, Steven Thornton.
She is survived by daughters, Vivian Byrd and her husband, Jeff, of Ramseur, N.C., and Beth Peele and her husband, Anthony, of Pikeville, N.C.; sons, Ken Caughron and his wife, Melinda, of Fremont, N.C., Joe Caughron of Goldsboro, N.C., and Mark Caughron and his wife, Sharon, of Kenly, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and sisters, Janie Carroll and Shirley Garis both of High Point, N.C.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Nahunta Friends Meeting, with Mark Caughron officiating.
