Melvin "Scob" Jackson Sr., 77, died Thursday at his home.
Funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, with pastor James Collins officiating. Burial will be at Old Mill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Verleaner Jackson of the home; two daughters, Angelyn Taylor of the home and Melody Webb of Kinston; two sons, Melvin Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and Sherwood Jackson of Goldsboro; and a brother, Samuel Jackson of Goldsboro.
A public viewing was held Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St. in Goldsboro.
