WILSON -- Joseph Newton Williford, 80, 2839 Springflower Drive North, died Wednesday after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, with the Rev. Bobby White officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park with Masonic rites.
Newton was born June 29, 1929, in Wilson County, the son of the late Joseph Daniel and Gladys Williford.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jennie E. Williford; a son; and a daughter.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service and at other times at the residence.
