Carol Faye "Red" Bennett, 68, died Wednesday at his home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He was born in Wayne County to Mildred Wise Bennett and the late Grady Bennett.
He retired from Tri-County Electric where he worked as a lineman first class.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn Eason Bennett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorrie and Ron Rouse of Mount Olive and Barbara and Gary Langston of Bentonville; two grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Michael Holmes, and Candace Mitchell; one great-granddaughter, Madison Holmes; and close family friend, Fred Aldridge.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Allen Bennett; three brothers, Charles Robert Bennett, Albert Gene Bennett and Jerry Bennett; and one sister, Mary Lou Bass.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at 805 Holloman St. in Mount Olive.
