SELMA -- Annie Parker Fields, 72, passed away Wednesday at her home.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Sutton officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Annie was born June 26, 1937, in Goldsboro to the late Lillie Turnage Parker and Andrew Robinson Parker.
Annie worked as a hair stylist's assistant and was a member of Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She enjoyed the beach, entertaining her family, boating, traveling, eating out and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Annie is survived by a daughter, Vanessa Gilley and husband, Jack, of Selma; two grandsons, Shawn Michael Gilley of Wilson and Eric Lee Roland of Jacksonville, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Ty'Sean Ardoin, Olivia Gilley, Dustin Jay Roland and Cheyanne Nicole Price; twin sister, Fannie Parker Widener of Goldsboro; special little family friend, Rylie Gill; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood Earl Fields; daughter, Cecelia Fields; and a sister, Esther Parker Blalock.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Rouse Funeral Home.
