PRINCETON -- James Daniel Parrish, 59, 6551 Princeton Kenly Road, died Wednesday evening at his home.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Kelvin Gurley, the Rev. Dennis Pollock and Vernon Capps officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date.
Born on July 11, 1949, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Michael Preston and Avangalie Edwards Parrish.
He was a member of Whitley Church.
He is survived by his wife, wife, Charlotte Parrish of Smithfield; son and daughter-in-law, James Daniel Parrish Jr. and wife, Christie Mae, of Princeton; son, Steven Hinnant of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Susan Marie Clemmons of Raleigh; stepsons, Robbie Dixon of Goldsboro and Gabriel Dixon of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Billy Parrish of Selma; sisters, Rachel Capps of Goldsboro and Lib Watson of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Cody Parrish, Tyler Parrish, Emily Parrish and Scott Clemmons; special nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
The family will begin receiving friends at 4 p.m. Saturday at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton and immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Casey Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
