SAM J. ASSAD
Died June 16, 2009
Sam Joseph Assad, 83, died Tuesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.
Sam was born in Halifax County to the late Joseph Assad and Susie King Assad.
He was a retired salesman having worked with Snipes Distributing and with Coastal Distributing. Sam was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.
Sam is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Hill Assad; his daughter, Wanda A. McCullen and husband, Dennis, of Goldsboro; his daughter-in-law, Theresa Assad; two grandchildren, Kristin Assad and fiancé, Lee, and Eric Assad; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Floree Hill of Thomasville and Helen Hill of Hobe Sound, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Sam Dale Assad and Dean Randall Assad, and his sister, Ann Komenecky.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Dennis McCullen, 4502 U.S. Hwy. 13 north, Goldsboro.
