Peggy Wooten Brown, 70, 306 S. Claiborne St., died Friday night at Wake Medical Center.
A service to celebrate the life of Peggy will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Gene Carpenter, Celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
A native of Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Luther Stivers and Pet Musgrave Wooten. Peggy was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Daughters of The American Revolution, and an avid Democrat.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Tom Brown; daughter, Martha Thomas Brown of LaQuinta, Calif.; sister, Anne Wooten Tilley and husband, David Ronald Tilley, of Durham; brother, L.S. Wooten Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Swansboro; and nephew, David Wooten Tilley of Raleigh.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 200 N. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the common room at the church.
