John Carl Hines, 64, passed away Thursday in Toms Brook, Va.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Ceme-tery with military honors.
J.C. was born in Pasco, Wash., on Nov. 27, 1944, to the late Moulton Dexton Hines and Eula Jane Massey Hines.
J.C served his country in the United States Army for two tours during the Vietnam War.
J.C. is survived by his sister, Pat Hines of Valrico, Fla.; his stepsister, Charlotte Gilker-son and husband, T.W. of Oak Hill, W.Va.; his stepbrother, Charles Thomas Griffith and wife, Jenny of Beaver, W.Va.; his aunts, Velma H. Edwards and Mozelle Hines of Goldsboro and Melbadean Poglayen of Illinois; and numerous cousins in North Carolina and Illinois.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
