LAGRANGE -- David Lee Harrison, 69, died Thursday.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Stacy and the Rev. Ivy White officiating. Interment will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from Fairview Cemetery.
David was born Nov. 2, 1939, in Lenoir County to the late Lee and Inez Anderson Harrison.
He served in the United States Army and was retired from The Contractor's Yard. David served many years with the LaGrange Fire Department and had been a member of the Home Builders Association. He enjoyed his grandchildren, playing cards, NASCAR, helping others and trips to the mountains.
David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Tilghman Harrison; two daughters, Melissa Harrison Johnson and husband, Mike of LaGrange, Tammy Harrison Moore and husband, Edward of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Landon Moore, Travis Johnson and Jordan Johnson; sister, Carrol Henderson and husband, Curtis of Hendersonville; sister-in-law, Frances Whitley and husband, Roy of Dover; brother-in-law, Robert Tilghman and wife, Mary of Kinston; special cousin, Peggy "Priss" Wiggins of LaGrange; special uncle and aunt, Thurman "Doc" Anderson and Jo Anderson; niece, Sharon McCoy; nephews, John Anderson, Robert Tilghman Jr., John Tilghman and Lee Whitley; and special friends, Ken and Faye Sutton.
The family will receive friends following the service of remembrance and at other times they will be at the home.
